Hope and excitement have emerged among many Nigerians following reports that the wife of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, Anwuli Amakom Ekubo, may be expecting a child, after the Eze of Arochukwu made the disclosure during prayers held over the actor’s casket.
The traditional ruler spoke when the funeral convoy conveying the actor’s remains to his hometown in Abia State stopped at the Eze Aro palace ahead of his burial rites on June 18.
During the prayers, the monarch expressed hope that the actor’s lineage would continue and said information received indicated that his widow was pregnant, while praying for the unborn child to surpass his father’s achievements.
However, the reported pregnancy had not been officially confirmed by the family at the time of reporting.
The revelation comes amid continued mourning for the actor, whose wife was recently identified as Anwuli Amakom Ekubo, an executive director at NOG Oil and Gas Limited.
