A Nigerian woman serving in the United States military has reacted to the sudden drop in messages from Nigerians seeking guidance on joining the U.S. armed forces.
In a social media video, she explained that before tensions around the Iran conflict escalated, her inbox was flooded with direct messages from Nigerians asking how to enlist in the U.S. Navy or other branches of the military.
However, since the conflict began, the volume of messages has significantly declined. “Before the Iran war started, many Nigerians kept coming to my DM asking how to join the US Navy.
Now I only get like four or five messages a day. What happened?” she asked, adding a light-hearted nudge for those still genuinely interested to reach out.
Her comments have sparked discussions online about how global events influence migration interests and military recruitment inquiries.
