Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the security situation in the state ahead of the August 15 governorship election, alleging that innocent residents are being killed while security agencies have failed to address the violence.
Speaking in a video circulating online, Adeleke questioned why Osun was still experiencing unrest despite claiming that the state’s people had already endorsed the President.
He also warned against any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the forthcoming election, insisting that residents would vote in large numbers and defend their ballots.
“President Tinubu, I am passing this message to you. What else do you want Osun people to do again? We’ve already endorsed you. Why are we suffering? Call Oyetola to order. Let the bloodshed in Osun be put to a stop,” the governor said. His remarks have since sparked reactions online as political tension builds ahead of the governorship poll.
