Nigerian TikToker, known simply as Mirabel has finally opened up on the allegation of rape she earlier raised in a viral video.
Initially, Mirabel’s claims that an unknown assailant had invaded her Ogun State residence and used a blade to inflict injuries ignited a firestorm of public concern and prompted a swift investigation by the Nigeria Police Force.
While many rallied behind her, a wave of skepticism from netizens pointed to inconsistencies in her timeline.

The narrative shifted dramatically following a conversation between the content creator and social media activist Martins Otse (VeryDarkMan).
In a recorded phone call, Mirabel walked back her claims, attributing the incident to a period of intense personal crisis and drug-induced hallucinations.
The reversal highlights a deeper struggle with self-harm and mental health, as Mirabel clarified that the physical injuries were self-inflicted rather than the result of an external attack.
During her disclosure to VeryDarkMan, Mirabel provided a candid look into her state of mind:
“The story about a stranger raping me isn’t true. On a normal day, I cut myself. I have pan!c attacks, and I engage in self harm to cope.”
When pressed for the motivation behind the elaborate story, she revealed a sense of isolation and a desperate desire for an exit from her current reality:
On the motivation: “I did that because I felt overwhelmed and just wanted to end everything. I created the other account myself. Please sir help me. I don’t have siblings, just friends. I don’t even fully understand why I h¥rt myself. I am a l£sbian.”
On the veracity of the rape claim: “I have been s¥icidal and I have just wanted to end it all. Yes sir.”
Prior to this confession, the Ogun State Police Command had already committed resources to the case.
