The marital dispute between Senator Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has taken a dramatic turn, as both parties publicly traded accusations involving drug use, manipulation, and family harassment.
The senator, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, alleged that Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, had been a negative influence, claiming she repeatedly harassed his children and domestic staff.
Nwoko also disclosed that he had financed Sammy’s university education at Ekpoma and sponsored his music career, including renting an Abuja apartment, at a total cost of about ₦125 million.
Taking on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Nwoko claimed that Sammy and another individual introduced Regina to drug use, sabotaging her recovery efforts.
“Rather than supporting her rehabilitation, they kept bringing her the same substances she was being treated for,” Nwoko alleged.
“My intention was to protect her from people who worsened her condition, not to punish anyone.”
The senator also accused Sammy of invading his residence at 4 a.m., demanding confrontation after being asked to remove his girlfriend from the house.
He defended his call for police involvement, insisting that the video circulated online showing an alleged assault was “a staged Nollywood scene” filmed in his absence.
However, Regina Daniels, in a lengthy Instagram response on Sunday morning, admitted to past drug use but accused Nwoko of distorting facts to damage her reputation.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly? You know my family has nothing to do with this,” she wrote. “Yes, I did drugs. I’m not denying that. But that’s not what ended our relationship. You’re using it as a distraction from your controlling behaviour.”
Regina accused Nwoko of isolation, emotional abuse, and forced medication, claiming he instructed doctors to inject her with sedatives whenever she disagreed with him.
“You take my phones for weeks so I can’t speak with my family. You say I’m incoherent, but I’ve never acted that way. Stop using drugs as a weapon to silence me,” she stated.
The actress also alleged that Nwoko encouraged her drug use for his own satisfaction.
“You said I looked sexier when I was high, that it made me wilder and more romantic,” she wrote.
She went further to assert that there was no legal marriage between them, saying she had long wanted to leave the relationship.
“We were never married in any court of law. You can’t force love or marriage. I gave you my prime years and sacrificed my career, that’s more than any money you claim to have spent,” Regina declared.
The online altercation comes weeks after Regina accused her estranged husband of domestic abuse and unlawful detention.
Her brother, Sammy, was recently arrested in Lagos and transferred to Abuja, where he was arraigned and remanded pending bail conditions.
Amid the controversy, Regina shared a rare moment of relief on social media, celebrating her parents’ reconciliation after years of separation.
In a video, she expressed gratitude for the reunion but admitted she was still emotionally overwhelmed by her brother’s detention and the public scrutiny surrounding her marriage.
The unfolding saga has triggered widespread reaction across social media, with fans and fellow actors urging both parties to de-escalate the feud and seek private resolution.
