Nigerian Afrobeats star Portable has issued a public warning about an impersonator performing his music on stage without permission.
The singer announced he is offering ₦500,000 to anyone who spots and brings in a lookalike performing his songs.
Portable clarified that while fans can imitate his hairstyle or fashion, performing his music without consent is “a scam” and will not be tolerated.
He urged authorities and fans to report any impersonator, saying: “Any of my lookalike that is performing my song on stage, bring him to me. I’ll give you ₦500,000 and hand him over to the police.”
The singer stressed that the matter is serious, as the songs are available on platforms like Apple Music and should not be performed without his approval.
