The Presidency has reiterated its strong belief in President Bola Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term, stating that “no politician in Nigeria today has the capacity to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu” in the 2027 general elections.

This assertion came from Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, during a gathering in Abuja on Tuesday that brought together over 100 pro-Tinubu support groups from various parts of the country.

Speaking at the event themed “Meet and Greet with the Spokesman,” Bwala explained that the purpose of the meeting was to solidify coordination between grassroots networks and the Presidency as preparations for 2027 begin to take shape.

“We thought that as part of the strategy to spread the gains of this administration, it is good we connect with the source, the support groups, engage with them, appreciate them for what they have been doing, and then ask them to do more for the love of the country and for the love of the President,” Bwala said.

He emphasised that President Tinubu’s performance in the last two years, particularly in economic and governance reforms, has restored public trust, making his path to re-election even stronger.

Bwala declared: “We are moving from renewed hope to recovery, and that recovery must be felt in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.”

Representatives at the forum included support group leaders from all six geopolitical zones, as well as delegates who flew in from the United Kingdom.

Bwala clarified that the meeting was not a political campaign but a strategic effort to deepen engagement with the President’s grassroots base.

“People often wait until election time to look for support groups, but that is not the right way to do it. They are not tools to be used; they are partners in the process. They must be part of what the government is doing,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Bwala announced that similar outreach events will be held internationally in countries such as the UK, US, and Canada to engage the Nigerian diaspora and maintain visibility for the administration’s achievements.

He also revealed plans for a large-scale progressives’ town hall in November, where registered groups will meet to evaluate strategies and assess governmental progress.
