A Nigerian woman has expressed frustration after investing heavily in a solar power system that fails to meet her household energy needs.
In a viral social media post, she revealed that despite installing an inverter and solar setup to reduce reliance on fuel, the system only powers her home for a few hours each day.
“I’m tired of this solar wahala. My inverter only lasts about four hours a day, and right now I’m back to using a generator. Every day, I spend ₦38,000 on fuel,” she lamented.
Her experience highlights growing concerns about the efficiency and cost of alternative energy amid Nigeria’s persistent electricity challenges.
Experts note that poor installation, substandard equipment, or unrealistic expectations may contribute to unsatisfactory performance.
Many households continue to rely on generators despite investing in solar systems, reflecting the ongoing struggle to balance energy costs with reliable power supply.
