The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather advisory forecasting a mix of dust haze, sunny skies, and thunderstorms across different regions of the country.

Residents have been urged to stay vigilant due to potential flash floods and health risks.

According to Platforms Africa, NiMet predicts slight dust haze with good visibility in northern states including Borno, Zamfara, northern Kaduna, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina.

The central region is expected to experience sunny skies with intermittent clouds, with early morning thunderstorms in Benue and moderate rainfall later in the day across the FCT, Nasarawa, and Kogi.

In the southern states, cloudy skies and moderate rainfall are forecast for Rivers, Cross River, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom, intensifying as the day progresses.

Motorists have been advised to exercise caution during rainy conditions, while individuals with asthma or respiratory issues should limit outdoor exposure in northern areas affected by dust haze.

Airline operators are also encouraged to consult NiMet’s airport-specific weather reports to ensure safe flight planning.
