A Nigerian woman has triggered debate on social media after sharing a personal experience that shaped her belief about loyalty and trust.
The lady, who posted on X, explained that she once borrowed money from a male friend during a difficult financial period.
She promised to repay the loan within three months and later returned most of the amount, forgetting a small balance.
According to her, the issue resurfaced recently when she tried to contact the friend to recommend him for a business opportunity.
While opening his business WhatsApp account, she noticed the last message between them, which was the receipt of her earlier payment.
The message reminded her that she still owed him money. She immediately transferred the remaining balance and added extra as appreciation.
To her surprise, the man said he had ignored the balance because she once helped him financially when he urgently needed support.
Her post concluded: “I choose to invest more in men than women,” sparking mixed reactions online.
