Air Peace has confirmed that one of its flights operating between Lagos and Port Harcourt was disrupted on Thursday following a bird strike.
The airline explained that the incident occurred when the aircraft encountered a bird upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
In a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the company said the impact led to the temporary withdrawal of the aircraft for technical inspection.

“This has necessitated checks on the affected aircraft and the deployment of another aircraft to convey passengers of subsequent flights on our network,” the company said.
Air Peace expressed sympathy to passengers affected by the disruption and assured them that steps were being taken to limit inconvenience across its operations.
A bird strike refers to a collision between an aircraft and a bird during flight or while taking off or landing.
The airline recalled a similar incident on November 24, 2024, when one of its Lagos-bound flights suffered a bird strike shortly before departure from Abuja, leading to delays.
