A Federal High Court in Effurun, Delta State, has ordered social media critic VeryDarkMan to pay ₦30 million in damages to Mrs Esinjemiyotan Atsepoyi, wife of comedian Mr Jollof, over defamatory statements made online.

The case stemmed from a September 2024 social media dispute in which VeryDarkMan allegedly accused Mrs Atsepoyi of engaging in adultery with politicians and internet fraudsters to secure political favours for her husband.

Following the allegations, she filed a ₦500 million defamation suit against him.Delivering judgment on May 13, 2026, Justice R. Harriman ruled that the statements were defamatory and ordered VeryDarkMan to pay ₦20 million in general damages and ₦10 million in aggravated damages.
