Governor Bala Mohammed on Wednesday held a closed-door meeting with top figures of the All Progressives Congressat the Government House in Bauchi, fuelling fresh political speculation.
The high-level meeting was attended by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf.
Sources indicated that discussions were restricted to the three politicians, with members of the state party structure excluded from the meeting. Journalists were also barred from covering the engagement.

Both Mohammed and Yilwatda declined to speak with the media after the meeting, insisting that the visit was private.
The development comes barely 24 hours after Mohammed signalled interest in joining the African Democratic Congress, following a visit by a delegation of the party led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, in Bauchi.
