The Bauchi State Government has announced a temporary adjustment to official working hours for civil servants in response to the commencement of the 2026 Ramadan fasting period.
The revised schedule, approved by Governor Bala Mohammed, was conveyed in a circular dated 17 February 2026 and signed by the Director of Establishments in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Ismail Ibn L. Garam.
The directive was addressed to the Chief of Staff at the Government House.
According to the circular, the measure is intended to allow Muslim civil servants to observe the tenets of Ramadan more effectively and to participate fully in religious activities associated with the holy month.

Under the new arrangement, civil servants will close work at 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, while the existing closing time of 1:00 p.m. on Fridays will remain in place.
Workers were also encouraged to take advantage of the Ramadan period to offer prayers for the progress, development and peaceful coexistence of Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole.
The adjusted working hours will remain in effect throughout the duration of the 1447AH/2026 Ramadan fasting period, from its commencement to its conclusion.
