The emotions at Ben Gurion Airport were flying high as the Freed Israeli Hostages who arrived home to tearful embraces from loved ones.
Among them were 12 women and 8 children who had been held in Gaza for months after the kidnappings that happened in October.
The Freed Israeli Hostages was called “a humanitarian breakthrough” by the government of Israel as they thanked Egypt, Qatar, and the United States for mediating the peace deal that made it all possible.
However, many families still remain in pain and anguish, waiting for news about family members who are still missing.
One of the men whose daughter is still yet to be freed said, “This is a day of both joy and pain. We celebrate the ones back, but we can’t rest until all are home.”
The release of the Freed Israeli Hostages has renewed calls for diplomacy rather than warfare, as citizens push both sides to prioritise peace.
