Actress Laide Bakare named face of 2025 Osun Osogbo festival

With the return of the Osun Osogbo Festival, which will commence in August 2025, Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has been announced as the official face of the ceremony.

The event, a hallowed 600-year-old cultural tradition certified by UNESCO, will include a mix of Afro-modern production, glamour, symbolism, and ancestral pride. This was disclosed on the official X page of the Osun State Government on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Part of the statement read thus: “LAIDE BAKARE UNVEILED AS OFFICIAL FACE OF OSUN OSOGBO FESTIVAL 2025 — A GLOBAL CELEBRATION BEGINS.”
“The countdown has officially begun. The globally revered Osun Osogbo Festival—a sacred 600-year-old cultural experience recognized by UNESCO—is set to return this August 2025, and this year, it arrives with a bold, youthful twist.”
“The festival’s marketing consultant has unveiled Nollywood star, cultural icon, and proud Yoruba daughter Laide Bakare as the official face of the 2025 edition in a dazzling campaign titled: “I’m Laide. I’m Culture.”
