Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu has responded to a viral video showing him selling goods in a market, firmly dismissing criticism surrounding the clip.

The footage, reportedly recorded by a passerby, captured the actor attending to customers while displaying his wares, prompting widespread reactions on social media.

Some users questioned why a public figure would engage in what they described as petty trading.Reacting in a video, Madu defended his actions, emphasising the dignity of labour.

“Una dey post where I dey sell my market… no wahala,” he said, adding that he had travelled abroad to restock his business.

He maintained that he would continue trading regardless of public opinion.

His response has reignited conversations around multiple income streams, with many noting that several Nigerian celebrities have diversified into business ventures beyond the entertainment industry.
