Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that the lead female model in his hit Aye music video was originally a makeup artist who stepped into the role after a pageant contestant withdrew because of contractual obligations.
Speaking during an interview with Capital Xtra, Davido explained that the beauty queen initially selected for the video could no longer participate after her manager informed the production team that pageant organisers had reminded them she was under contract.
Rather than postpone the shoot, the team decided to cast her makeup artist as the lead model.
