A young Nigerian woman has sparked online debate after recounting an awkward encounter with a man who approached her after an exam.
Hoping to be polite, she engaged in conversation, only for the situation to take an unexpected turn during a casual ice cream outing with friends.
According to the lady, the man bought only his ice cream while leaving hers and her friends’ unpaid, despite her struggling briefly with a network issue.
“Even if you didn’t want to pay for my friends, I mean just N200 for ice cream, and you want to ask me out and you want me to reply your text?” she lamented.
She clarified that her concern was not about affordability—she could easily cover the cost herself—but about basic courtesy and respect in social interactions.
The incident has sparked social media discussions about manners, expectations, and modern dating etiquette in Nigeria.
