Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent political move, accusing him of lacking commitment to party building.
Speaking during a media parley on Wednesday, Wike took a swipe at Obi’s history across political platforms, suggesting that the former Anambra State governor prefers ready-made structures rather than developing parties.
“Obi was in APGA, he couldn’t build APGA. He went to Labour, he ran away again from Labour. All he’s looking for is food is ready political party,” Wike said.
Obi had on Sunday formally joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) alongside former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, as political realignments gather pace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
