Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has reflected on one of his major philanthropic contributions, recalling his N200 million donation to the Sir Michael Otedola Scholarship Scheme in 2005 while emphasising that true wealth is measured by the lives transformed rather than personal possessions.
Sharing throwback photos from the scholarship award ceremony on Instagram, Otedola noted that the event was chaired by then Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who now serves as Nigeria’s President.
He explained that the donation continued his family’s longstanding commitment to investing in education through the scholarship scheme established by his late father in 1987.
According to the businessman, giving back remains the true measure of wealth.
Otedola’s post revisited a significant moment in his philanthropic journey, highlighting his longstanding support for education and youth development while reinforcing his belief that lasting impact comes from changing lives through meaningful acts of generosity.
