President Bola Tinubu has formally forwarded 65 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, read the request during Thursday proceedings.
The list includes 34 Career Ambassadors and High Commissioners and 31 Non-Career Ambassadors and High Commissioners.
Among the career nominees are Sulu-Gambari Olatunde Ahmed from Kwara State and Segun Ige from Edo State. Notable non-career nominees include Senator Folasade Grace Bent from Adamawa State, Senator Solomon Ita Enang from Akwa Ibom State, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim from Ondo State.

Also named among the non-career ambassadors are Chioma Ohakim, former First Lady of Imo State, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, former Minister of Interior and ex-Chief of Army Staff. These individuals were not part of the earlier ambassadorial list released by the presidency.
Earlier, three nominees, Kayode Are (Ogun State), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa), and Ayodele Oke (Oyo State), had been sent to the Senate and screened by its Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The new batch of 65 nominees has now been referred to the same committee for screening within a week.
