APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has launched a scathing attack on Nigerian skit makers, accusing them of spreading ignorance and polluting social media with worthless content.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Igbokwe described many skit creators as “compound illiterates” who lack basic reasoning and thrive on promoting foolishness to gain attention.
He criticised what he called the celebration of mediocrity online, insisting that such content adds no value to society.
The outspoken politician argued that social media has been overtaken by people who have nothing meaningful to offer, yet command large followings.
According to him, many of these entertainers are merely “selling their ignorance to the public space.”
Igbokwe advised skit makers to return to school and get educated before attempting to influence public opinion.
His comments have since sparked debate, with many Nigerians divided over his blunt remarks.
