Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi has marked a major achievement as her 2022 hit single “Duduke” received gold certification in New Zealand, having sold 15,000 units.

The song’s music video, which highlighted Simi’s pregnancy, captured the singer’s excitement and joy as she prepared for motherhood, earning admiration from fans around the world.

Its emotive lyrics and rhythmic beat quickly resonated with listeners, sparking widespread acclaim and inspiring the viral “Duduke Challenge,” where fans shared their own creative renditions of the track.

Beyond its musical impact, “Duduke” has also become closely associated with Simi’s daughter, Adejare.
