Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries has issued a public apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, following weeks of controversy over allegations she levelled against him.
During a church service captured in a widely circulated video, Okafor knelt before his congregation and admitted to personal shortcomings, saying he was not without faults and was ready to seek forgiveness where he had erred.
He mentioned Ogala by name while making the apology, describing his action as a step toward reconciliation.
The apology comes after Ogala accused the cleric of having a secret relationship with her, making promises he allegedly failed to keep, and sharing inappropriate materials.
The claims triggered a public exchange between both parties on social media and in interviews.
Ogala had also alleged that Okafor attempted to persuade her to withdraw her accusations with an offer of $10,000, claiming she was being portrayed as part of a plot by rival pastors to damage his reputation.

While expressing regret for any hurt caused, Okafor rejected most of the allegations, insisting that several of the claims against him were false and contained what he described as “many lies.”
He nevertheless said he was willing to make peace and move forward.
He said, “Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender an apology to everybody.
“I am sorry to everyone I have offended, to Doris Ogala also. I say sorry and apologise to everyone that I’ve offended.
“I’m ready to make restitution to anyone, anybody, any lady I have offended. I am sorry. Forgive me.”
Acknowledging his imperfections, he added, “Not perfect, I’ve never been perfect.”
“I’m kneeling before everyone and before the church. Forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me,” he added.
Ogala has responded, forgiving Okafor but rejecting his claim that she lied about the accusations.
“Chris Okafor, I forgive you, but there’s a problem. Where you said everything is a lie. I have a problem with that because I don’t lie,” she wrote.
Okafor’s apology comes amidst ongoing controversy, with Ogala filing a N1 billion lawsuit against him for alleged emotional distress, reputational damage, and breach of trust.
