Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has ended 2025 as Nigeria’s highest goalscorer, scoring 46 goals in 52 appearances for club and country following a prolific spell with Galatasaray.
His impressive tally also placed him fifth among the world’s top scorers for the year, tying with Argentina legend Lionel Messi, who reached the same number in more games.
Osimhen netted nine goals in 10 matches for Nigeria and added 37 goals in 42 outings for Galatasaray, underlining his consistency at both international and club levels.
Only Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Kevin Hernández finished above him globally.
The 27-year-old forward capped his outstanding run by finishing as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer, helping Galatasaray secure a domestic league and cup double.
Other Nigerian forwards, including Cyriel Dessers and Paul Onuachu, also recorded notable goal returns but trailed Osimhen by a wide margin.
