Nollywood stars have flooded IK Ogbonna with messages of comfort after the actor shared an emotional tribute to his late best friend, Alex Ekubo, describing the loss as one that changed his perspective on life.
In a heartfelt video, Ogbonna said nothing prepared him for Alex’s death, revealing that the tragedy had left him questioning life after months of trying to process the loss.
His emotional message drew support from colleagues including Ini Edo, Omoni Oboli, Nancy Isime, Lilian Esoro, Lizzy Gold, Destiny Etiko, Ini Dima-Okojie, Susan Peters and Chizzy Alichi, who offered prayers, encouragement and condolences.
Omoni Oboli said Alex’s death had changed them forever, while Ini Edo praised Ogbonna’s loyalty and kind heart. Alex Ekubo reportedly died in May after battling cancer and was laid to rest in June.
The two actors shared a close friendship and were widely regarded as brothers within the Nigerian film industry.
