Nigerian actor Tayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has demanded the arrest of content creator King Mitchy following a shocking incident during a TikTok livestream.
During the broadcast, King Mitchy reportedly drank a household cleaning substance in an apparent attempt at self-harm amid her ongoing online feud with activist Verydarkman.
Ijebu, reacting via Instagram, condemned the act and stressed the dangers of normalising self-harm on social media, particularly for children and teenagers aged 10 to 21 who are active online.
He urged law enforcement to intervene, highlighting the responsibility of content creators to be role models rather than harmful influences.
“I’m begging the police to start the arrest of anyone attempting to commit suicide online because all this Gen Z has a lot of followers,” he said.
The incident has sparked widespread concern over the influence of social media content on vulnerable viewers and renewed calls for stricter monitoring of harmful online behaviour.
