A wedding ceremony reportedly scheduled for Saturday was abruptly cancelled after a heated disagreement between a couple over asoebi arrangements escalated into a wider family conflict, according to a viral narration shared online.
The female narrator, identified as a relative of the groom, claimed that the bride insisted the groom’s family must not be included in her asoebi group for the wedding.
She alleged that although the groom personally paid for the asoebi materials, the bride maintained that his family should not wear the chosen fabric or participate in the group arrangement.
According to her account, the disagreement intensified when the bride further stated that the groom’s relatives should not be featured in wedding photographs if they did not meet her standard of “class.”
She also reportedly dismissed attempts at compromise, insisting on strict control over wedding presentation.
The groom reportedly cancelled the wedding despite completion of bride price payment and traditional rites. Efforts by the bride’s family to reconcile were unsuccessful, as he insisted the issue reflected deeper incompatibility.
