Morocco has been officially declared winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board that Senegal forfeited the final.

The decision overturned an earlier Disciplinary Board verdict after a protest by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, citing breaches of Articles 82 and 84 by the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football.

CAF confirmed Senegal’s conduct violated tournament regulations, awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory.

In separate rulings, Moroccan player Ismaël Saibari received a reduced two-match suspension, and fines for off-field incidents, including ball boy misconduct and VAR interference, were adjusted.

CAF dismissed all other motions, bringing an end to one of the most contentious finals in AFCON history.

The ruling has sparked debates across the continent, with Senegal indicating plans to appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
