Nigerian singer and Simi has called on men to confront sexual misconduct among their peers, emphasising that silence only perpetuates abuse.
In a passionate post on X (formerly Twitter), Simi condemned the culture of “loyalty over accountability,” where men protect friends who engage in harassment or assault.
She urged men to examine why allegations trigger defensiveness if they are not guilty and to actively call out friends who abuse women.
Simi acknowledged that while false accusations exist, they are rare; the priority should be preventing abuse and supporting survivors.
“Stop enabling behaviour that terrorises women,” she wrote.
Her statement has sparked widespread discussion online, with supporters praising her courage and urging a cultural shift.
Simi stressed that real change requires men to hold themselves and others accountable, ensuring women can live safely without fear of harassment or violence.
