Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has challenged the widespread belief that actors in the Nigerian film industry are wealthy, revealing that many performers are battling financial difficulties behind the scenes.
Speaking during a podcast hosted by fellow actor Baaj Adebule, Rosman explained that fame does not always translate into financial stability for most actors. According to her, only a few entertainers enjoy financial comfort, largely because they have alternative businesses and investments outside acting.
She noted that many actors experience long periods without movie roles, making it difficult to maintain a steady income. The actress also pointed out that pressure from social media often forces entertainers to project luxurious lifestyles to attract endorsements and public attention.
Rosman’s comments have sparked conversations online about the economic realities facing many mid-level and emerging Nollywood actors today.
