Political commentator Isaac Fayose has called for the questioning of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike over comments he allegedly made about Oyo State, following the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in the state.
In a viral video, Fayose claimed Wike had previously stated that he would “put fire” in Oyo State, a remark he linked to the current security concerns affecting the state.
He argued that the timing of the kidnappings, which occurred around a period of political activity involving Governor Seyi Makinde, raised concerns that deserved further scrutiny.
Fayose also criticised remarks allegedly made by a political associate of Wike suggesting Makinde could have arranged the abduction, describing such claims as troubling.
Referencing insecurity during Wike’s tenure as governor of Rivers State, Fayose urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and called for security agencies, including the police and the Department of State Services, to investigate the matter and establish the facts surrounding the controversy.
