Veteran Nollywood actress Fausat Balogun, widely known as Madam Saje, has explained her fondness for attending social events, particularly those organised by younger actors.
In a recent interview, she addressed criticism about her frequent appearances at parties, stating that her actions are driven by personal experience and a desire to support others.
According to her, many people failed to attend her own events in the past, an experience that left a lasting impression. “When I invited people, many didn’t show up,” she said, noting that she now makes deliberate efforts to honour invitations, especially from emerging talents.
The actress also reflected on her early struggles in the film industry, revealing she once went hungry and worked without pay. She encouraged young people to remain patient and trust their journey.
Her remarks have sparked conversations online about humility, support, and the importance of community in entertainment circles.
