Nigerian singer Qing Madi has narrated how she was allegedly charged N50,000 for a drug worth N2,000 at a local pharmacy, describing the experience as shocking and embarrassing.

Speaking on the ‘Tea with Tay’ podcast, the fast-rising artiste said the incident occurred while she accompanied her father, who asked her to purchase medication.

According to her, pharmacy staff recognised her immediately, taking photos and videos before attending to her.

Madi said she was stunned when the drug’s price was inflated. Her father reportedly confronted the staff, but they denied any wrongdoing.

“I was shocked. The drug that should cost N2,000 was sold to me for N50,000,” she said.

The singer added that the situation left her embarrassed, highlighting how fame can expose public figures to exploitation in everyday transactions and raise concerns about consumer protection and ethical conduct.
