While headlines focus on the winners of the fourth annual Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP) Awards, the real story lies in the event’s mission: to celebrate the often-overlooked architects of Nigerian cinema.
Held at the OOPL on December 9, the ceremony, hosted by Kie Kie and E Ayoruba, was less about glamour and more about validation for Nollywood professionals.
Founder Odunlade Adekola established the awards to ensure rigorous standards of judging recognize not just star power, but technical proficiency.
A key highlight of the night was the profound respect shown to veterans. Adekola personally initiated a standing ovation for much-loved actress Peju Ogunmola.
Furthermore, fellow industry titan Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin) took the stage to commend Adekola for his sustained contribution to the industry’s welfare.
The 2025 edition emphasized fairness and encouragement, inviting impartial judges to scrutinize submissions exclusively from the TAMPAN community.
This focus ensures the OAFP remains a grassroots recognition event that uplifts every facet of film creation, from sound mixers to set designers.
