Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been appointed Head of Youth Mobilisation for the Accord Party campaign council in Osun State ahead of the August 2026 governorship election.
According to him, the appointment was made by his uncle and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election under the Accord Party.
“I have been appointed by the Governor of Osun State and flag bearer of the Accord Party as head of youth mobilisation of the campaign council,” he said.
The role is expected to boost youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation across the state, leveraging his influence as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
It comes as Governor Adeleke continues his re-election bid after switching to the Accord Party, with Davido’s appointment seen as a strategic push to attract young voters.
Campaign officials say mobilisation efforts will intensify ahead of the August poll in Osun State Nigeria.
