The Government of Burkina Faso says a Nigerian Air Force C-130 aircraft carrying 11 military personnel was forced to land in Bobo Dioulasso on Monday after allegedly entering the country’s airspace without authorisation.
According to a statement published by the state-run Agence d’Information du Burkina on behalf of the Confederation of Sahel States, the aircraft made an emergency landing with two crew members and nine passengers on board.

Burkinabe authorities later concluded that the plane had no clearance to fly over the country.
The AES denounced the incident as a breach of sovereignty and warned that its air and anti-aircraft defences had been placed on maximum alert, with orders to neutralise any future violations.
The Nigerian Air Force and the Federal Government have not yet issued an official response.
