An old sermon by Apostle Joshua Selman has resurfaced online and sparked renewed debate amid the controversy surrounding Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo’s recently revealed tattoo.
The clip, which is now trending across social media, revisits Selman’s teachings on tattoos, wisdom, and Christian leadership.
In the sermon, the founder of Eternity Network International explained that tattoos acquired before salvation carry no spiritual consequence.
However, he advised believers against getting tattoos after becoming born again, stressing that the issue is not sin but wisdom.
According to him, while certain actions may be lawful, they may not always be expedient, especially for those in ministry.
Apostle Selman warned that outward choices could affect a minister’s credibility and influence, particularly among weaker believers.
He urged Christians to prioritise inner transformation over outward expressions and cautioned against copying Western trends without discernment.
The sermon resurfaced following mixed reactions to Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo’s tattoo of John 3:16, which has divided opinions within the Christian community.
