At least 23 people have been confirmed dead and 108 others injured following multiple suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri on Monday evening.
The explosions, reportedly carried out by suspected Boko Haram members, struck crowded locations including Monday Market, the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital gate, and the Post Office Flyover, triggering panic across the city.
Police spokesperson ASP Kenneth Daso confirmed the casualty figures, describing the attacks as devastating.
He noted that security agencies responded swiftly, deploying joint teams of police, military, and explosive experts to secure the affected areas.
Emergency responders, including National Emergency Management Agency, evacuated victims to hospitals, where many are receiving treatment.
Authorities say calm has been restored, though security presence has been heightened, while efforts continue to track down those responsible.
