Pastor Chris Okafor has withdrawn the public apology he previously made to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, explaining the reasons behind his earlier gesture.

The clergyman had apologised on his knees during a December 2025 sermon, but during a recent service, he clarified that he cannot apologise for actions he claims he is not responsible for.

Okafor stated that his initial apology was intended to protect spiritual colleagues who supported him during the controversy.

He firmly said, “I withdraw that, there was no single apology because I cannot apologize for what I don’t know.”

The dispute between the pastor and Ogala began when she accused him of breaking a promise to marry her, sharing private content without consent, and causing emotional distress.

Doris Ogala later filed a lawsuit seeking N1 billion in damages, alleging that Okafor misused funds entrusted to him and misled her by introducing her to his family while marrying another woman, Pearl Okafor.

The revelation has reignited public interest in the ongoing legal battle.
