APC Clinches Kuje Chairmanship as INEC Declares Danjuma Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has returned Danjuma Shekwolo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the Kuje Area Council chairmanship election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following Saturday’s poll.

The declaration was made on Sunday at the INEC office in Kuje by the Returning Officer, Professor Nkiruka Odoh, who announced that Shekwolo secured 17,269 votes to top the contest.

Odoh formally pronounced the result, stating: “I am the returning officer for the 2026 FCT Area Council, Kuje chairmanship election held on Feb. 21, 2026.

“That Danjuma Shekwolo, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.

According to the figures released, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate came second with 15,824 votes, while Abdulahi Danladi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) finished third with 4,305 votes.
