Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has accused Peter Obi of allegedly working in the interest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as political tensions begin to build ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Adeyanju made the claim in a post on X, where he also criticised opposition leaders, describing them as ineffective and divided despite recent national challenges.

“Peter Obi is working for Tinubu. The opposition leaders in Nigeria are the most useless in Africa. They are too irresponsible. For Nigeria to still have a divided opposition in 2026 after what happened to this country in the last 3 years is a huge shame,” he wrote.

He further intensified his criticism, adding: “These guys are sworn enemies of Nigeria. Tinubu is not even playing at all. Can you imagine.”

His remarks come amid recent political realignments involving Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, who both defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the next election cycle.

Obi had previously contested the last presidential election under the Labour Party, while Tinubu ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
