A new dispute has stirred reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment and religious circles following allegations by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala that she plans to take legal action against popular cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, over an alleged failed promise of marriage.
Ogala made the claims during a live online discussion with media personality Daddy Freeze, where she alleged that she was involved in a personal relationship with the pastor and that he had assured her of marriage, a promise she said was later abandoned in favour of another woman.

The actress claimed she has evidence to support her allegations and disclosed that she has already contacted her lawyers to take the matter further.
She also alleged that the relationship occurred while she was married, adding that the cleric was fully aware of her marital status at the time. According to Ogala, she sent intimate videos of herself to Pastor Okafor during the period, alleging that the requests for such materials came from him.
Ogala said the alleged breach of promise is the basis of the legal action she intends to pursue, stressing that her lawyers would formally address the issue.
