The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified at least 79 Nigerians for deportation as part of a renewed nationwide operation targeting what it described as the “worst of the worst” criminal aliens in the country.

Information published on the DHS website on Monday indicated that the affected Nigerians were convicted of a range of offences, including fraud, drug peddling, assault, manslaughter, robbery, and related crimes.

According to DHS, the individuals were arrested during an intensified enforcement campaign focused on criminal immigrants across the United States.

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” the statement read.
