President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, replacing Professor Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.
The appointment was announced on Thursday in a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga. At 39, Aina is set to become the youngest registrar in JAMB’s history.
Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, is known for his expertise in digital systems and educational technology.
The presidency said Tinubu expects him to sustain ongoing reforms and improve examination transparency, efficiency and integrity.
The new registrar previously worked with examination bodies, including NECO and NABTEB, on ICT and digital transformation projects.
