A 99-year-old woman from Afaraukwu, Abia State, Mrs Sarah Nwanyisunday Oparaocha, has made an emotional appeal to the Federal Government, urging the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Speaking with journalists at her residence in Afaraukwu, Kanu’s hometown, the elderly woman said her greatest wish is to see him return home while she is still alive.
She noted that witnessing his presence again would bring her deep personal fulfilment.Mrs Oparaocha disclosed that she prays daily, often in tears, asking God to soften the hearts of Nigeria’s leaders, including Bola Tinubu, to allow Kanu reunite with his people.
Her plea came amid reports of a community meeting where residents also renewed calls for Kanu’s release. The emotional appeal has since drawn public attention online.
