The Presidency on Sunday firmly denied a viral report alleging that a chef at the State House, Abuja, had been arrested over a purported plot to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the claim as entirely false.
The clarification came amid growing social media speculation triggered by an online report that claimed, without citing any verifiable source, that a member of the kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa had been apprehended in connection with an alleged poisoning attempt.

Reacting to an enquiry, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Tope Ajayi, dismissed the allegation in unequivocal terms.
“Fake,” Ajayi said in a terse response when contacted on the matter.
As of press time, no security agency had confirmed any arrest or investigation related to the allegation.
The viral report, which lacked identifiable sources and supporting evidence, had circulated widely across online platforms, prompting public concern.
The Presidency’s swift rebuttal appears aimed at curbing misinformation and preventing unnecessary panic over claims touching on national security.
