Lt. Gen. John Brennan joined senior leaders in Abuja today to officially launch the inaugural U.S.-Nigeria Working Group, a platform aimed at enhancing coordination and joint action on security issues between the two nations.
The initiative, announced in a post via X by the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), establishes a new framework for collaboration, accountability, and collective efforts to counter terrorism and protect vulnerable populations.
According to AFRICOM, the working group will serve as a mechanism to streamline intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and policy discussions, reinforcing existing U.S.-Nigeria security partnerships.
