Nigerian artist and music producer, Peller, has broken his silence following a wave of online reactions to his decision to gift his mother a brand-new Hyundai Santa Fe.

The entertainer, who shared clips of the surprise car presentation on social media, said he was surprised that many people turned a simple act of gratitude into a family controversy.

According to him, questions about his father’s welfare began to flood his comment sections shortly after the video went viral.

Peller clarified that his gesture was not meant to stir comparisons or draw attention to his parents’ relationship.

He explained that his father has never publicly complained about neglect, adding that despite their complicated history, he still provides for him and ensures he is well taken care of.

“People keep asking about my dad just because I bought my mom a car,” he said. “Has my dad ever come out to say he’s suffering or that I don’t take care of him? Even though he didn’t support my career at first and was harsh on me, I still show him love.”

He emphasised that many people on social media do not understand the struggles that shaped his family story.

He urged critics to stop making assumptions about his personal life, noting that his relationship with both parents is based on love and respect.

While some praised Peller for addressing the issue maturely, others advised him to ignore the noise and continue focusing on his career. The viral moment has since sparked a broader conversation about celebrity family life and the tendency of the public to draw conclusions from private gestures.
